Event Description: Visit the RIBA Award nominated Fort Dunlop and discover how the building is working to combat climate change.

Come along and discover Birmingham’s secret rooftop world. Join Dr Adam Bates on a tour of one of the city's green roofs and uncover a potential sustainable solution that is growing above our heads!

‘Green roof’ is a general term for any roof covered with a growth substrate with plants growing on it, and as such, they vary enormously in their type and function.

The roofs provide huge environmental benefits, such as:
•    the thermal insulation of buildings
•    increased roof longevity
•    urban cooling
•    improved urban aesthetics
•    reduced roof run-off
•    habitat creation
