Free Tai chi and chi-kung classes for health and well-being. Join in sessions that are available to all ages and levels of mobility. See demonstrations of this graceful martial art now more widely practiced as a self-defence against the stresses and strains of daily life.
The sessions are designed to give everyone an opportunity to watch and take part in the gentle and graceful arts of tai chi and chi-kung. Chi-kung means breath exercise and is suitable for both young and old, able and less able. The simple repetitive movements, performed to music, ease mobility improve circulation and strengthen the natural energy flow (chi) within the body. You will leave the sessions feeling both relaxed and invigorated
Millions of people practice tai chi throughout the world. In China it is practiced in the early morning when the air is clear and fresh and energies are at their strongest. The slow mindful movements improve your health naturally and are currently used in hospitals for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, MS, Parkinson’s, depression and anxiety.
