Event Description:

The conference will consider the role of the UN in finding solutions to climate change. It will also focus on whether the UK government doing enough to build a low-carbon economy and what individuals can do to contribute to solutions.

The conference aims to:

  • reconfigure climate change so that it is understood as a threat to security, health and prosperity
  • make the case that climate change is both a significant economic threat and an enormous economic opportunity for businesses
  • consider ways to encourage low-carbon, high-growth outcomes in developing countries
  • highlight the changes needed to strengthen international institutional capacity for addressing climate change.
