Exhibitions, stalls, displays – and new seating

You can’t have too many seats in a city. So, during the climate change festival, we’re adding 14 more. Look out for our installation benches across Birmingham city centre. Some benches frame intriguing views of places that are set to change. Each will be captioned – with a surprise or two in store.

You’ll find most festival displays in the city centre’s main squares – Victoria, Chamberlain and Centenary.

Centenary Square is the hub of a wide variety of exhibition stands and stalls on the environment and climate change. Take a look at the ‘urban village of the future’ - what leading companies think the bank, schools, homes or energy providers will look like. Check out sustainable transport exhibits, from top of the range hybrid cars to white vans, and the latest in hydrogen fuelled vehicles.

New Street hosts an outdoor photography display ‘Birmingham past, present and future’, featuring 40 fascinating photographs of old and new buildings. And a multimedia exhibition includes architectural models to bring to life Birmingham’s future.

And if you have been inspired, stop at the Birminghamcuttingco2.org pledge points where you can make a commitment to reduce your own carbon footprint.

Other exhibitions worth looking out for include ‘Rotunda - 21 Stories’ which explores memories of an architectural icon. Birmingham schoolchildren make their mark with ‘litter charter’ artwork and recycled sculptures.

Check this website before you come along for any changes to the timetable and additional activities.
